About Alex

An award-winning journalist, Alex Denis is a television correspondent in New York City.

Catch her on CBS 2 News This Morning, weekdays from 4:30-7, followed by WLNY’s Live From the Couch, from 7-9am.

Prior to WCBS, Alex worked for TN Mornings WZTV in Nashville where she was nominated for an Emmy Award. The Associated Press also recognized her ability awarding her Best Long Hard News Feature for a report on a group of deployed soldiers.

Alex started her television career writing, and working on the assignment desk, for Tampa’s WFTS ABC Action News.


Wanting a new challenge, she accepted a job as Bureau Chief for WJHG in Panama City, Florida. Known in the business as a “one-man-band”, she videoed, wrote, edited, and reported daily.


Despite her busy schedule, Alex believes strongly in volunteer work. In 2004, she was awarded Outstanding Citizen of Tampa for her involvement in the community. Alex has also met with President George W. Bush to discuss a bill she co-wrote involving funding for Aids research.

She’s enjoying NYC with the company of her husband and their chocolate lab.
